The Dead Inside
Frontline Films

The Tyee, one of Vancouver's many "independent" newspaper, ran a story about the big city's indy horror film industry. Of course any city full of film profesionals is going to inspire independants and amatures. Victoria even has such an industry, one of my old co-workers is behind such films as Meat Market 1&2 and the just released The Dead Inside. Brian Clement enjoys both the horror and film noir genre and both show up in his new film, as they do in many of his others. Check out Frontline Films.
Others worth checking out are Fizz Films and Random Act Productions.

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis are both shot over in Vancouver both are renewed for the 2006-2007 season. The problem is that so far only Amanda Tapping (Samantha Carter) is signed to return to Stargate SG-1's 10th season. Hopefully we wont have to wait until Vancouver's GateCon in March to find out what's up.

Now shooting in Victoria, Augusta Gone and Safe Harbour. If you know anything about locations or what they are doing, please leave a comment.

Thanks to Cherly for some links and information.

  1. Actually, Amanda Tapping says on her website:
"I have every intention of returning to Stargate next year. No, my contract has not been signed, but I fully expect that it will be soon. Yes, I have been offered the possibility of working on both 'SG-1' and ('Stargate: Atlantis'). To what extent still remains to be seen, but I will be doing a total of 20 shows, or a full season. Am I happy about it? You betcha!"

So she's not actually signed yet, but planning to!
